The Nudge

Let’s get real for a moment.

It’s easy to get caught up in work—especially when you love what you do.

But let’s be honest:

Sometimes the drive isn’t just passion. It’s pressure. The pressure to prove your value. Every. Single. Day.

Yes, adding value is part of being a high performer.

But no, you don’t need constant external validation to confirm that you are.

I’ve been there—wondering if the work was “good enough” to earn the next role, recognition, or opportunity. That cycle of striving, performing, proving…it’s exhausting. Especially if you're wired to think asking for help means you've failed.

Here’s a truth you might need to hear today:

Asking for help is not weakness. It’s leadership. Effective leaders know they don’t need to carry it all alone.

This post isn’t about telling you to "see your worth"—you already have it.

It’s a reminder to pause and ask:

👉 What am I really striving for?
👉 Why am I working this hard?
👉 What will it take to make this sustainable?

And yes, it’s a nudge to step away. Not just for a few hours, but long enough to reset.

As this goes live, I’ll be on a plane to Guatemala, where I’ll spend the week building stoves with a local community. It will be active, yes—but my brain will rest in ways it doesn’t at home. I need this break.

You might, too.

So I’ll ask you:

🟢 Is it time to take a real break—from proving, from grinding, from always being "on"?
🟢 Is it time to craft your endurance strategy for this leg of your leadership journey?

Let’s talk if I can help.
